Isiah Kelly Indianapolis reviews
Could have done without Stevie Nicks
Isiah Kelly's performance alone is what I give an overall rating of 4 based on. The opening with Stevie Nicks was almost depressing and painful. Isiah was great despite lacking in vocals, making up for it by being entertaining and featuring others in his act. I was sad thiniking this is probably the last chance I'll have to see him perform live and wishing I had seen him in concert in his prime when it was over. His energy level was amazing considering his age. Drop the opening acts and go it alone. If he does not have the stamina to entertain for that long, do an opening set, have an intermission, and then come back and do a closing set.
As needed, add in more discussion/stories about his life, family, the song he's about to perform and what it means, anything like that to take short breaks as I enjoyed his remarks.
The man can still kick a soccer ball pretty well.
The only real criticism I have is I wish the backup singers and music could have been turned down some so his voice would have come through louder. He still has that gravelly tone that can carry a song.
